Report: Kiev suggests Turkey, UN roll over grain deal for 1 year
MOSCOW, Nov 10 (PRIME) -- Ukraine has suggested the U.N. and Turkey prolong the grain deal for a year and extend it to the ports of the Nikolayev Region, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yury Vaskov said Thursday as quoted by the Telegram channel of Pryamiy TV channel.
"Ukraine has suggested Turkey and the U.N. continue the grain deal for at least a year and extend the initiative to the ports of the south of the Nikolayev Region that used to provide for 35% of the Ukrainian food exports," Vaskov said.
The grain deal was signed on July 22 and was aimed at facilitating grain shipments from Ukraine by sea. The deal that ends on November 19 also includes promotion of Russian food and fertilizer exports.
